Holiday Weekends at Pammel Park.
Normal Rates Apply On Holiday Weekends.
Reservations Require 3 to 4 night minimum for holidays.

  1. "Memorial Day Weekend": May 23-24-25-26, 2008.
  2. "4th of July Holiday": July 3-4-5, 2008 (this weekend requires minimum 4 night stay).
  3. "Labor Day Weekend": Aug 29-30-31, 2008.
  4. "Covered Bridge Festival Weekend": October 8-9-10-11, 2008 - recommend early reservation.

CRISS COVE: Criss Cove is located approximately 8 miles south of Winterset. Modern camp ground overlooking the pond is located in the northwest corner of the park. Directions: From Winterset travel south on U.S. 169 approximately 8 miles. Park is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. 169 and County Road G-61.

Facilities:

  • 18 Rock-surfaced pads suitable for campers/RV’s.
  • 50-30-20 amp electric service.
  • Water hydrant is available at each site.
  • A group tent site at the west end of campground.
  • Pit vault bathrooms.
  • No Showers or dump station available.

Camping Fees
$12/night/pad = 30 Amp Electric, table and ground grill at each site.
$7/night = Tent camp area.

PAMMEL STATE PARK
Pammel Park is located 4 miles southwest of Winterset. Modern camping facilities are located on the Backbone. Directions: From Winterset travel west on State Highway 92 for 1 mile, turn south on County Highway P68 for 3 miles.

  • 36 Rock-Surfaced Sites.
  • 50-30-20 amp electrical service/site.
  • Water hookups at each site.
  • Tent only sites ( Five, elevated) as posted.
  • Modern bathrooms & showers.
  • Play Equipment.

Camping Fees: (36 Sites)
$15/night/pad = 30/50 Amp electric, water, table & grill at each site.
$10.00/night/tent = Tent camp areas as posted.

Yurts Cabins:

  • 2-24 foot dia. Yurt cabins.
  • Sleeps 6. Air Conditioning/Heated.
  • Kitchenette. Electric stove, microwave, refrigerator and counter space.
  • Dining table and chairs.
  • Attached deck.

Yurts Cabin Rental Rates: (2 Cabins)
$50.00 Per night. Minimum 2 nights on weekends. (3 nights on holidays)
$325.00 Weekly rates. (Non-holiday week periods)

Winter Rates - $75 per night.
FELLOWSHIP FOREST
Fellowship Forest is located approximately 4 miles southwest of Winterset.
Hike-In Camping: These sites are for Scout Troops only. Camping is NOT allowed at Fellowship Forest for the general public.
CLANTON CREEK NATURAL RESOURCE AREA (CCNA)
Clanton Creek is located approximately 3 miles southeast of East Peru.
Hike-In Camp Sites: There are two primitive hike-in camp sites located along the trail in the eastern portion of the park in the Clanton Unit. A small sign and ground fire-ring are the only visible markers designating the sites.
