Fellowship Forest

Pond This 60 acre park is primarily upland hardwood forest, with some bottom land timber adjacent to a beautiful limestone ledged creek that flows the entire length of the park.
Stocking Fish Fellowship Forest is managed as a multi-use area with a small picnic shelter near the parking lot, a small 1/2 acre pond, and a trail system that explores the upper elevations of the west half of the park.
Forest Shelder Fellowship Forest Shelter House is a excellent picnic area.
INFORMATION

Facilities & Features
60 Acre Upland Timber.

Picnic Shelter:
Seating capacity of 60, with a vented group grill located in the center of the shelter. Electrical outlets and lights are provided in the shelter.

Small Pond:
Small fishing deck.

Pit:
Vault restroom.

Trails:
Hiking: Trails meander through the west half of the park. Trail head is located on the north end of the pond dam. The trail is approximately 1 mile in length remains fairly level throughout.
Primitive Hike-In Camping: These sites are for Scout Troops only. Camping is NOT allowed at Fellowship Forest for the general public.

Activities:Public Hunting:
Good hunting for White-tailed Deer, Turkey and other small woodland game.

Nature Study & Photography:
A good variety of spring time woodland wildflowers makes this a good area to explore in late April and early May.
A small creek cascades through the limestone geology of the park creating a number of small waterfalls and exposing handsome layers of limestone, shale, slate and other unique rock formations. Visitors will need to abandoned the groomed trail system to explore the unique ecology of the creek.


Fishing:
The small pond provides a fun place for youngsters to wet a line. The pond is stocked annually with catfish.

DIRECTIONS
Fellowship Forest is located approximately 4 miles southwest of Winterset in the southwest quarter of Madison County.
Directions: From Winterset travel south on U.S. 169 approximately 1 3/4 miles, turn west on Carver Trail and follow roadside directional signs for 2 1/4 miles.
