The Administrative office for the Madison County Conservation Board is located at the Operations Center building located near Winterset. All full-time staff personnel are officed in this facility. People wishing to make personal contact with Conservation Board staff are welcome to stop by the Operations Center. Advanced appointment is recommended.
Historical Note
The office is located on a portion of property that was once the site of a large CCC and VCC camp that was active in the 1930s. One of the former CCC camp building foundations is visible on the site and is used to display a memorial stone. Additional CCC structural foundations are visible along the west side of County Highway P-71 between the Operations Center and south to the Middle River bridge.

The Operations Center is located 1 mile south of Winterset on the west side of County Highway P-71. and houses the main offices of the Conservation Board park system.
