We are working hard to add native plants to public and private landscapes throughout Madison County. Check out this map of native plants around the county!

Native Seeds and Plugs

We are delighted to partner with Allendan Seed here in Madison County. They are a great resource for native seeds and plugs. When purchasing your plants – show them this graphic. They will make a plant donation to Madison County Conservation in return!

We Need Your Help

We have several native garden beds in our various parks around the county. We are actively recruiting volunteers to help us maintain these beds. We ask that volunteers spend a few hours per month (in the growing season), helping to maintain these gardens so they look great for the public. We currently have native beds at the new Conservation Center, at Middle River Park, the Outdoor Classroom, and Cedar Bridge. Contact Jessie Lowry for more information at jlowry@madisoncounty.iowa.gov.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
